The next day at noon Knuckles was trying not to pace outside the Gacha restaurant. Julie-Su. had seemed nice on the phone, if a little nervious, but why wouldn't she after having a total stranger calling her up asking for a meeting.
And it wasn't as if he wasn't nervious too. Watching the crowd for a hint of red, not that he expecting to catch sight of the echidna in the mall when there were so many humans blocking his line of sight.
He didn’t react the way she hoped for. He didn’t recognize her at all. That must mean he must be from a different Zone - an alternate universe - than she is, one where she never existed.
“And it’s nice to meet you, too.” She said, calming down. “How are you handling things here?”
Knuckles noticed Julie Su seemed to be looking for something with her gaze, maybe she was expecting him to have metal armour like her? That would be something to ask later.
"It's going to take some getting used to, but so far the people have been welcoming." Which they would be if their strory was true. In a normal situation Knuckles would be a lot more distrustful of this place, however learning about the existance of another echidna has done a very good job of distracting him.
"The people here, especially the otherworlders, are quite welcoming." Julie-Su said, chuckling. It was serving as a good distraction right now from everything else.
"Heh I'm glad to hear it." He can't wait to find out as much as he can! So he walks into the resturant very happy... only to quickly become confused by the gatcha set up.
"This is a little different to the other resturants." Knuckles as he starts reading the instructions. "Do you eat here often?"

As she fought through the crowd to reach the restaurant, Julie-Su spotted the telltale red body of a certain echidna.
“Knuckles?!”

There was clear excitement in his eyes at seeing Julie-Su but not even a flicker of recognition.
"Julie-Su! You made it." Knuckles jogged over to her. "It's nice to meet you in person."
